Our Town CrossFit Kids
CrossFit Kids is a strength and conditioning program, specifically designed for kids and teenagers. The group classes consist of constantly varied, functional movements, executed at a high intensity.
What does this mean? The workouts are always different, fun, and involve exercises that kids already do when they play - run, jump, pull, push, throw, climb, and lift. They help participants become well-rounded athletes and increase physical competence in 10 fitness domains: Cardiovascular and Respiratory Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, and Accuracy. This takes place under the close supervision of our CrossFit Kids Trainers.
The program goes beyond fitness; it teaches kids and teens how to persevere, thrive and at times, how to fail and try again. It fosters a healthy body image, and creates a community of kids that think it’s cool to talk about healthy eating and daily workouts with their parents. The CrossFit Kids program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change the programs.
Our classes are designed and programmed with the specific needs of the child in mind. We encourage coordination, agility, accuracy and proper movement patterns long before we introduce intensity and weight. Younger kids do not need to lift heavy load to get stronger, rather learning how to recruit the right muscles, will make them stronger. This program can help any child become more confident and secure in their own abilities. Our classes are divided by age groups to keep kids amongst their peer group.
